Benefits Of Umrah
Importance and Benefits of Umrah in the light of Quran and Hadith
Agreed.
1) Narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA). Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, One Umrah to another Umrah is expiation for everything in between. And the only reward for Mabrur Hajj is Paradise. (Bukhari and Muslim)
Released by Al-Nasa’i.
2) The Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, also said: Perform Hajj and Umrah again and again, because these two remove poverty and sin in the same way that a workman’s winder removes the dirt of iron. (Nasa’i – Hadith Sahih)
Doing Umrah in Ramadan is the reward of Hajj
Allah Ta’ala says in the Holy Qur’an, “This is Ramadan, the month in which the Qur’an was revealed for the guidance of mankind.” (Surah Baqarah: 185). Fasting in this month is made obligatory by Allah Ta’ala and says, “So whoever among you finds this month should observe fasting.” (Surah Baqarah: 185). Hazrat Talha bin Ubaidullah said, a person asked the Prophet (PBUH), O Messenger of Allah! Tell me what fasting Allah has made obligatory on me. He replied, “Ramadan fasting.” The man said, “Do I have any other duty?” He said, “No, but if you fast Nafal, it is a different matter.” (Bokhari: 1891). In another narration, the Prophet (PBUH) said, Allah Ta’ala has made it obligatory for you to fast this month. (Nasa’i).
As a result, the status of this month has increased due to the fact that Farz fasting is in Ramadan.
When this month came, Rasool Karim (S.A.) was very happy and used to tell the good news of the Companions, the blessed month of Ramadan has arrived at your door. (Nasa’i).
Rasulullah (s.a.w.) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, establishes prayer, pays zakat, and fasts in Ramadan, Allah’s command is to admit him to Paradise.” (Bokhari).
Rasulullah (s.a.w.) said, the prayer of every believing Muslim is accepted in Ramadan. (Bazaar, Sahi at-Targhib wat-Tarhib: 988, Musnad Ahmad: 7450). Every night and day of this month, Allah Rabbul Alamin frees many people from hell, Rasulullah (SAW) said, Allah Rabbul Alamin frees many people from Hell every night and day of Ramadan. (At-Targhib wat-Tarhib, Musnad Ahmad: 7450).
In this month, the rewards of good deeds are multiplied many times. For example, in the hadith, performing Umrah in Ramadan gives the reward of one Hajj. Not only that, but performing Umrah in Ramadan has the status of performing Hajj with the Messenger of Allah. In this way, the reward of all good deeds including worship increases several times.
A lot of profit can be gained through amal in this month. In this context, it is narrated in the Hadith, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) said, Rasulullah (SAW) said to an Ansari woman, why did you not go to Hajj with us? He said, We have only two water-carrying camels. In one my son’s father (husband) and his son have gone for Hajj, the other is left with us to carry water. He said, when Ramadan comes, you will perform Umrah. Because this month’s Umrah is equivalent to a Hajj. In another narration of Sahih Muslim, Rasulullah (SAW) said, Umrah in Ramadan is like a Hajj. (Bukhari: 1782, Muslim: 1256, Musnad Ahmad: 2025).
In another narration, Umm Makil (RA) said, Ya Rasulullah! I want to perform Hajj. But my camel is weak. He said, you perform Umrah in Ramadan. Because Umrah in Ramadan (as a reward) is equal to Hajj. (Musnad Ahmad: 27285). O Allah, grant us taufiq to perform Umrah in Ramadan.
